MAy 2012

The first four months of this year have shown what a marginally increased level of confidence coupled with "money at work" (previously on the sidelines) can do for capital markets across most sectors and most regions.

Year to date returns have been, at times, in the double digits in certain markets and certainly out of the red in others. Although not many solutions to the challenges facing the European or US economy have been effectively deployed, the investment community seems more comfortable with the new and current financial landscape. .First quarter corporate earnings reports were mixed- bringing surprises – ranging from very pleasant to somewhat unpleasant.
